The old people who meet after their first spouses die are generally pretty sweet and seem like nice people, and some of the stories about gay couples are touching as well. But most of the regular old young professional people getting married come across as weird and self-absorbed - I suppose because the paper has to

So here's my take, having studied microbiology for a long time (caveat, studied disease from a research standpoint, I am not a practicing physician)

I'm a little curious why are you preoccupied with the possibility of e-coli being in places? Is it based on some experience you had?

Human aggression and aggression towards other animals are two entirely different things. I do agree that pits are at a higher risk of dog aggression, because they have been bred for it. However, "higher risk" doesn't mean a dog is necessarily going to develop it, and a lot of other breeds that aren't considered

there is no "sudden tendency." Pit bulls are not a breed. they are no more likely to attack than any other dog.

I guess you would be right if, false rape reports were more common than any false crime report. But it's not. Yet rape victims go though more scrutiny than victims of other crimes.

Oh man, how an I going to break this Paula Deen news to my mother? I am still in the dog house for shattering her "Other Boleyn Girl" delusions about the authenticity of Phillipa Gregory's history. This must be what it's like for parents when their kids ask about the tooth fairy.

This comment is a mountain of misinformation. ALL dogs are individuals and should be treated as such.

OMG FASHION BUG. Please come back into my life.

There's a lovely young man who walks his rescue girl every evening. She's terribly shy and sweet, and he's said she was abused. I'm a cat person, but I know a lovely sweet soul when I see one.

People have been mauled by alllll types of dogs. Most asshole dogs I've met are the tiny ones. I heard the same stories about Dobermans, Rottweilers, and German Shepherds as a kid that I hear about Pit Bulls now.

Also - here's a nice page regarding dogs who have been subject to to temperament tests - if you scroll down to "Staffordshire Terrier (the breed most associated with 'pit bulls')," you'll see that of 129 dogs tested, 117 passed the Temperament Test - that's over 90% of the dogs. :)

...which is a significantly lower number than you might think, especially when compared to attacks by smaller dogs.

As a Canadian, I get to be legit excited for the Royal Baby. Whether you like the monarchy or not, this kid will be the future King or Queen of Canada. (Can any other Canadian picture someone else's face on the money? I know I can't. Liz is all I've ever known! I freak out when I see an older George penny!)

Everybody at the reunion noticed just how big Phil had gotten since graduation, but all of them were too polite to mention it.

Absolutely agreed.

Are you being obtuse on purpose.. ?

She probably made the mistake of using the third person to refer to him in his presence.

A whorse walks into a bar, and the bartender says to her "hey why the slut phase?"

Somehow the saddest thing about this for me so far is that she can't afford the iPhone 5 :(
