There’s a bit of a difference. He bought the car with the hardtop. As-is is the condition he bought it in, not how it was when the shipper came to pick it up. If the car didn’t have the hardtop and mods when he took title, then it would be a defense, but you can’t steal stuff off the car after the sale and claim

I don’t really see how this is fraud and not straight up theft.

When I was shoeing my horse I was thinking, “this is a skill my son will likely never need.”

If it wasn’t already obvious it’s 100% fake, the photo editor missed a huge detail by not changing the rear-end shadow to reflect a shorter vehicle. Good effort, though.

it should be.

I’ll start by saying that I do know that there are honest mechanics out there.

This one time in Vancouver there was a windstorm that did tons of damage around the city, including blowing down trees. One of these trees landed on my Miata, which was an unpleasant surprise when I went out to go to work in the morning. My insurance wouldn’t cover it because it wasn’t a collision and they considered

I was 17 and found a beautiful, shiny 1987 Dodge Daytona “Pacifica” edition with the 2.2 Turbo at a small used car lot that could have been used in a movie about sketchy car lots. The sales guy had khaki shorts, socks with sandals and the typical golf shirt in “I’m going to screw you” pastel yellow.

In 1997ish I’m driving to work at ~0200 (call center life yo) in a white 91 Prelude when a white C3 Vette blows past me somewhere in the triple digits and ducks off a left exit. Didn’t think much on it. A couple minutes later the highway patrol screams up on my rear all lit up. Pull over wondering WTF is going on.

I got the urge to have a motorcycle soooo bad back in 2011. I couldn’t be stopped and was my own worst enemy. Found a 2003 Harley Sportster in decent shape on....CRAIGSLIST. So you know where this is going. After going back and forth with the owner I drove out to take a look and (oh my God why) put a deposit down on

No big deal. Everyone is wrong sometimes. But this is the wrong tweet of his (from a long time ago) that drove me crazy in a respectful way. Just like some of the history stuff in Cosmos drove me nuts.

Wait, am I still made of moonbeams and star shine?

Yes, she seemed bent on hauling ass, come hell or ... high water.

Jokes on them, the first thing that the war effort is going to affect is moustache oil. Without that, they can’t survive.

pah.. your fancy armor merely delays the inevitable hipster uprising

Did I say that? Why is there this trend online to do what you just did? What’s wrong with saying “good point”? The things I post should be taken at their face value, not filled in with extra pieces like a game of Mad Libs.

I would also add that “brake checking” is completely legal, while tailgating is often ticketed as “wreckless driving.” And yet we are scoffing at the law abiding citizen and feeling sympathetic for the aggressive dumbass? Clearly I don’t belong with this group of readers...

I dont think this guy was being a lane hog at all. He was passing a slow truck at a spot where a slow car was entering the freeway and a car in the right lane was going even slower. He was passing everyone when he was in the left lane. So I dont see a lane hog here, just an asshole talegater.
