I think one of the biggest issues is that many people only see rape as being one kind, or one motivation. No, but it's a HUGE leap forward. You now have Rift (backed by Facebook) and Sony putting huge money into VR. Microsoft will almost certainly be hopping on the road too. The only question will be - is this going to end up like motion control, and useless?

It's not that unlikely, I was coding text adventures in 3rd grade with nothing but basic. Considering how versatile Unity is, it wouldn't take much to do that project, if it wasn't done with a Rift utility to begin with. It's a lot easier to get something like that running than most would think.

It might be interesting to view facebook as a 90's VR internet experience.... walk down a virtual hallway and see 3d models of your friends along the way. view their timelines and photos as a physical space. The novelty of it is intriguing; but that's just it, it's purely novelty and nobody would want to do it.
