Models are in a particularly bad place re beauty/body image because even if they are perfect, they still get rejected on a regular basis for not having the right “look” or are told by agents, peers, photo editors, etc. that they need to lose some weight. Keep in mind that she worked in an era when shooting a non-white

I don’t care if she was a [put whatever employment makes you happy here], we can be empathetic for a person that goes in to get a procedure done and is physically scarred for life after.  It doesn’t matter who she was or who she is.  Stop judging people.

Hey, look at what happened *last friggin’ month* to Bridget Fonda after some-20 years of fading into obscurity: a fucking paparazzo figured out where she lived, *staked out her house*, and took photos of her looking like a normal middle-aged mom. She had gained a lot of weight and some of the press were rather cruel

I am more sympathetic, I guess. I think the article is about living with shame, disappointment, and fear of being judged for “letting yourself go.” Look at the recent coverage of Kelly McGillis. Well-known people are not allowed to fall into obscurity when there is news to be made for showing unflattering pictures.

Congratulations, you have written the stupidest thing I’ve seen on the internet today. Quite the accomplishment.

Imagine being so desperate to appear superior that you’d jump on on three words from a sub-head with no bearing on the piece that follows.

This is, indeed, a take. One that ignores pretty much everything about the differences between these two decisions except for race, sure, but still a take.

I am not super in-tune with the Olympics, and I am not denying that race might have played a factor... but this seems like this has a lot more to do with geo-politics than race. 5 white ladies (from some of the whitest countries in the world) were just disqualified for their fucking clothing, so clearly the IOC has no

Wolf is a normal name in German. It’s usually short for Wolfgang, but there are plenty of kids just named Wolf (usually pronounced ‘Voolf’ but in America they’ll often use the Anglicized pronunciation). I know two.

People here in Korea were already angry enough to spit nails over the fact that China claimed they invented kimchi and the hanbok. The disqualifications has just infuriated everyone more.

But I’m with ALittleBitMoira on this - if you expect me to walk around in your dog’s and/or children’s urine, feces, vomit, hair, etc. without shoes, you’re the one with the demanding attitude.

Yeah but Canadians are insanely polite. We are talking about Americans here. A country filled with morons that think it’s okay to yell in people’s faces maskless during a COVID surge as well.
I wish I was Canadian. I am open to being adopted. Just sayin’

Yeah, IT’S NOT YOUR HOUSE. It’s not your call.

My dad has a similar issue. He just takes a pair of very secure slippers with soles when he goes to friends’ houses. Problem solved.

I blame Russian figure skating children failing drug tests on Eteri, she is a child abuser.

I live in Canada and nobody ever wears shoes inside here (even in the summer when there is no rain/snow/etc.). To me, wearing shoes in someone’s home seems both nonsensical and disrespectful.

Pete seems like he would take much less emotional energy than Ye. I don’t blame Kim for having fun.

Oh you sweet summer child….

Oh, I do, because he just doesn’t seem to care.  Props to him.

I love this bit of drama because it just makes sense.
