Actually, it is. There’s a Supreme Court ruling on it and everything.

Actually, would you like to be educated on the application of the 1st Amendment to public campuses? The self-righteous condescension is cute, but you clearly have zero grasp on the topic at hand. I’ll overlook your poor manners and educate you. Out of the goodness of my heart.

They’re trying to use violence and fear to prevent their ideological opponents from exercising their civil rights. If that’s not fascistic, I’m not so sure what is anymore.

(Berkeley Students): “We demand unabridged Freedom of Speech (but only for people who agree with us ideologically)!”

Please remember: Freedom of Speech is more important to protect for people who’s views differ from your than they are for your own views.

Just because the guy is a white supremacist asshole....starting

So did the Allied Powers win the war by fighting fascism with fascism. Did the U.K. And US start there own death camps where they decided to exterminate a whole group of people? Did they invade their neighbors for resources and lebensraum?

. The school and the student body aren’t our government so them canceling the event isn’t “attacking” his free speech

GOOD! Repeat after me: you can defend the right to free speech, but you don’t have to give assholes a stage and an audience.

Counterpoint:

Let’s never forget the truism that “what goes around, comes around.” Perhaps slowly, ever so slowly, but eventually the wheel does inevitably turn.

Eh, as a fairly recent college grad I can say that some students will get violent over anything as long as the weather’s ok. World Series victories, football team wins, the spring concert, Tuesday... you get enough in an area hyping each other up and SOMEONE will escalate it about 25% of the time.

So much for free speech. What do ppl think is going to happen if ppl keep being hostile and silencing an unflavored, but very popular opinion? Would the result of that be worse than what ppl are trying to prevent in the first place?

Fight evil with evil, fascism with fascist tactics.

UC Berkley’s isn’t legally allowed to discriminate a speaker invited by a student group based on the content of their beliefs. Even if actual Nazis showed up, they would have to allow them platforms.

Fight fascism with fascist tactics.

I must admit that I agree with Yiannipolus that immigrants that come to our country and don’t respect our peaceful way of life should go back to where they came from. He needs to go back to Britain now.

They probably let any student group bring in speakers with very little in the ways of rules for content and speakers.

Keep it up hard left: You pulled this shit in Chicago in ‘68 giving us Tricky Dick and Seattle in ‘99 giving us W. Thankfully saner heads prevailed in 2011 during Occupy and oh, looky what happened: increased D majority in Senate, halved GOP majority in the house and put the big O back in Casablanca.

I’m a liberal who voted for Hillary and on behalf of the real left I apologize for this behavior

This is the Left’s and specifically the Far Left’s response to a speech they don’t like.

Kind of sad that this is our response to somebody giving a speech...
