Bartolo Colon blesses us with miracles every day while simultaneously shedding light on the futility and tragedy that is human existence. Baseball sure is a funny game.
One’s Enough, Thanks
He has to be the only player who anyone would actually believe in this situation...
I quit watching horse races about 10 years ago. I see no reason that it needs to be an industry.
I think the bigger question is, why is there a gaggle of turkeys in the classroom?
Because when you talk to sports fans there’s ALWAYS going to be the “macho” element. Playing physical is more “manly”, and thus...clearly it would win.
Michael Jordan is simultaneously the greatest and most over-rated player in NBA history.
That EVERYONE seems to think he was 2x better than the second best player is absurd.
Look at the Bulls when he, with the heart of true competitor /s, sat out.
93 Bulls - 57 wins (with Jordan)
94 Bulls - 55 wins (without Jordan)
Clearly,…
Kevin Johnson was a great player in that era, right? What makes you think Curry wouldn’t still be as good as he is today? There are lots of guards from that era that were able to drive into lane and not get clotheslined. Travis Best was driving on those very Bulls, but current guys would have a problem somehow? I…
Thanks for the tip. Haven’t heard anyone say the Bulls would beat the Warriors before. Really breaking new ground.
Just for the record: The 96-97 Bulls probably would destroy the current-day Warriors, the game is a bit less physical, the rules have definitely changed a lot, and the Warriors shoot a lot of jumpshots.
It depends by which rules they played by though.
Soft? Who cares. The league was full of a lot more terrible players then, too.
They might have been more physical in the 80's and 90's, but I think defenses are actually much better now than they were then.
Well yes, if you’re going to compare it to the era where a rugby game would suddenly break out as soon as somebody got into the paint, sure, the era is soft.
You’re forgetting about the team defense rules changes. Thibodeau’s strong-side box defenses would have been illegal under the old rules.
In the modern NBA big guys have to be capable of moving their feet on pick and rolls and switch onto smaller guards. Back then, they just had to sit under the rim and hack anyone who came into the paint.
I agree, anyone who isn’t ready to take a punch during a sporting event is a straight up pussy. BRB, gonna go post an NBA/NHL comparison meme....
Or they just started enforcing the rules that were on the books that the Pistons took more advantage of. it’s mind boggling how people think that the bad boys were good basketball. They were solid Rugby maybe.
Also you forgot one thing:
