I wouldn’t say Yang believes that we should have perfect “equity”. I think he would argue that you need give people their basic dignity, have a robust safety net, but also that letting smart business decisions drive wealth to an extent is good for the economy. In fairness, Bernie now sort of agrees with that as well.

I guess I don’t take him too seriously, but he’s a “libertarian” grifter campaigning on a trillion dollar a year UBI and a childcare plan that will likely cost several hundred billion dollars, M4A & the GND.  I get that he’s a tech guy so that’s the automatic assumption but I don’t think that’s really a reasonable

Does it have a functioning kitchen? If it does, then a $200 stipend could be used to turn the whole weekend into one long session of cooking pretty good food for yourself.  Throw in a few good hard copy books and a partner and it would be pretty relaxing.

I think people do that because it’s easier to pretend that we can stay cloistered in our cultural enclave and still have society be what we want it to be than it is to grapple with the reality of living in a pluralistic culture where people have different enough values that you can’t form a governing coalition without

If the statement “If X-Com and Mario had a baby” makes you involuntary start singing the Ding Dong Song, I would highly recommend Mario vs. Rabbids, which has the added bonus of frequently going on sale.

So as a non-Asian person, by that logic, if my stepfather is Korean does that mean I can all of a sudden claim that culture?

“Resistance Barbie” is a very sick little burn, 10 points to Tavi.

Honestly I don’t think they even need to oust the racists. Hawley and Cruz are much better than Trump at navigating racial rhetoric. They never would have been caught dead with the “very fine people on both sides” line and both navigated the summer riots far more effectively than Trump did. If they just become a touch

Hard to say. I’ll give Mitch enough credit to think he knew, from the start, that what’s happened in Georgia and what happened yesterday were the sorts of things that were distinct possibilities.

Having four kids is chaotic and crazy. Kim was exhausted and spent. It was a stressful situation, she was studying for the bar and dealing with so much.

Losing colleagues, current and former, who you enjoyed working with can be tougher than you ever expect it will be.

With Trump, my bar for “peaceful transition” was always that he is unable to get the military or Secret Service to help him stay in power. It looks like that should wind up being the case.

People love who they love.

Anyone who has tried to convince a family member to do something that they don’t want to do will surely understand that for all of Karlie’s “trying,” the White House Kushners are immovable.

Per the Constitutional definition, no it’s probably not. You’d have to argue that he’s doing this directly at the bidding of a foreign power (and as much as it’s clear Putin wanted Trump as President and tried to provide aid in various ways, there remains no evidence that Trump was involved in direct “collusion”) or

Mitt Romney’s death stare at Josh Hawley made me chuckle.

They really aren’t though. Manchin never made any promises about anything. Neither did Synema or a host of other purple state Republicans. The filibuster stays in place, so no major sweeping legislation happens, period.

Instant exit polling had a lot of weaknesses this year, but other data emerging, such as data from very heavily minority areas, indicates that the story beneath the surface of the vote totals is roughly:

I’m going to go about the rest of my day pretending I meant that particular double entendre.

Annointed? No, but there was a clear path that in hindsight would have been a strong one.
