Having been a TreeSize fan forever and having tried WinDirStat, I have to say that this one is pretty amazing. Already donated; thanks!

Agreed. I remember reading about the design of the Prius, and the designers were supposedly told “we don’t care what it looks like, but it can’t look like anything that exists”. Nothing like “conspicuous conservation”. :)
How is that gonna work out when corporations can just withhold the information from you?
Pop back here and let me know what you think when you read it. I didn’t know anyone who had used them so would be interested to hear what an actual thinks. It’s a quick read!
Seriously, read the book. See how many dedicated scientists left the company quietly because they were both horrified at what they saw and because they were petrified of being sued if they told anyone (which many were).
I mean, the role of the government is to set laws that please the people that elected them.
You may want to read the book then, since in many cases the results were WAY off (either false positives or false negatives); maybe the test you needed is one of the few they could do well? Don’t get me wrong: as a scientist and engineer I LOVED the idea of this working, but the concept (doing HUNDREDS of tests from…
What makes you feel that the state has a responsibility to inform you about food beyond that related to the health and safety of said food? And where would that stop? Just the distance traveled in shipping? How about how it was shipped (using renewable energy)? How about whether the farm where is was grown pays a…
For these hot summer days here in Phoenix, the local Wren House Brewing is doing some SUPER fruity sours in a series called “Las Frescas”. They admit it has a RIDICULOUS amount of fruit, but they are refreshing!
No, it isn’t. Do you want them to do automobile reviews so you know what car to buy? No, you merely want them to set minimum SAFETY standards so you know whatever you choose, it has met some criteria about safety. The job of government (in my opinion) is to make sure food is SAFE and let us know the NUTRITIONAL value;…
Because it is not the GOVERNMENT’S job to ensure your food does not travel too far for your comfort, since it has nothing to do with your health and welfare?
No comments about the papal cultural appropriation in the photo? Jezzies gettin’ lazy.
Please. Uber alone was doing 150 MILLION rides a MONTH and had a total of over 5 BILLION rides as of last year since they started; do tell me the statistics of sexual assaults, accidents, and breakdowns. The overwhelmingly vast majority of rides go off without any issues, as evidenced by the incredibly large usage.
No disagreement that Uber and Lyft play some games, but they don’t do it at the expense of the HEALTH OF CONSUMERS, and in fact they provide a service that works as advertised that consumers WANT as an option. Can you really not see the difference?
So they were able to find MANY shills within the company to help take it down from within (though they all resigned, when you would think they would STAY there if they were trying to destroy it), within the FDA, and also individual doctors and patients as well? At the very simplest, doctors and patients got results…
Anyone new grads reading this, PLEASE start saving for retirement now. Even if you can only put away $50 a month, it is the compound interest over the years that makes the REAL money for you.
Enjoy it! I couldn’t put it down.
You might want to read the book, because the rich people were still all in her corner when it all came out in the Wall Street Journal. It was all the little people who had worked there who brought her down, and they brought her down because she was going to hurt other little people with what she was doing.
Your asshole dispatcher story is a total myth,
The problem with your theory is that the people working at the company trying to CREATE the technology said it didn’t work, which is why they kept resigning. Maybe read the book.
