I TOTALLY agree with you on botht the lack of education and the resulting value of the refund - my point is that the “excitement” people express about receiving a refund illuminates that very lack of education.

You aren’t earning any interest in Venmo/paypal so that’s lost income. Kind of like people being excited to get a “tax refund”...that’s just you, poorly managing your money and giving a no interest loan to the government who is horrible at managing money.

Zelle is another that is literally managed by the banks themselves so arguably even more secure than Paypal.

There have been MULTIPLE Venmo data breaches, leaks and scrapes - then there is how often it goes down, their “credit card” doesn’t work, etc.

So few drive-ins these days...sadly.

Drive down the road to Richmond, VA and you’ll pay less than that - great food, music, microbrew, wine scene and surprisingly good arts scene (original cast touring hits Richmond on the regular).
