It’s almost like assigning police officers to hang around schools as a punishment detail (because make no mistake: if you are assigned to a high school, it is because you are in the shit with your boss) is asking for trouble.

Maybe it’s time to start looking at the background check and psychological evaluation processes that we use to decide who is and is not fit to serve as a peace officer.
