The CCIP mod is hardly the latest/greatest F-16 config. Many allies flys more advanced F-16 models. UAE F-16 Block 60 cost them much more, F-22 level per unit cost. ROC(Taiwan) AF is spending US$3 Billion to upgrade ~140 F-16A/B to F-16V standard in conjunction with SLEP.

$18 millions was the price for F-16 long times ago. That’s like saying you can get a 2015 Ford Mustang for the MSRP of a 1979 Ford Mustang. Iraqis are reported to had paid about $65 millions each for their F-16s. And as Tyler had reported before, those are gimped version.
Both designs are being build in US. So only the original designs are foreign. Now maybe the PC-9 design was “adopted” so long ago, it had “naturalized” by now. But it always interesting to see the different treatments of Swiss/Brazilian designs.

The “state of art” F-16 configuration is not Block 50/52 from 17 years ago. The F-16IN proposal for India was $58 millions each in 2008. UAE Block 60/61 and/or F-16V CAPES are the one that’s supposely cost $60-80 millions each.
We could have made several state of the art F-16s and F-15s for the cost of just one JSF.
