I realize that she’s tweeting quickly and that not everyone is great at spelling, but it still worries me that a courtroom reporter for NPR doesn’t know that it’s “counsel”, not “council.”

I will say this on every article since Jez staff does not include it in their article: the prosecutor investigated Dylan’s claims at the time and determined there was probable cause to prosecute. The only reason Allen was not prosecuted is because the decision was made by the prosecutor and Dylan’s mother that…

I don’t think it’s classy not to discuss money. I think it’s classy to bring it out into the open. Women are being screwed financially BECAUSE of a lack of sunlight here.

That’s how reporters get sources. The WaPo reporters who broke the Roy Moore story also reached out to those victims first because they’d heard rumors in their networks.

Even the prosecutor said there was probable cause to prosecute, after investigating. The only reason Allen wasn’t prosecuted is because of what the prosecutor called the “fragility” of the victim, e.g. they didn’t want to retraumatize Dylan further.

Paul Ryan has literally nothing to do with this. Farenthold is hated by Republican leadership. And Ryan only urged Trent Franks to resign because doing so immediately stops an ethics investigation and Ryan didn’t want the shit Franks was doing to leak and embarrass the party further.

It’s actually a central part of the the party platform. But it gets little media coverage because nobody cares. Obama’s main cause post-presidency is the National Democratic Redistricting Commission, which fights voter suppression and gerrymandering.
