I get that he’s the Pope of the people and all that, but he still doesn’t deserve to be grabbed—he’s not public property. Because if some guy had grabbed a woman like that, and she had slapped his hand away, we’d probably think it was OK, right?

I almost never blame actors for acting in a bad movie for the money. They’re just there to do their work in their part - if they do a professional job acting, then the failure of the movie is on the director and producer (which it usually is).

Hmmm .. reading the Guardian link, it sounds to me that the “torture” is merely the act of continuing Manning’s detention? (as opposed to active torture like waterboarding, stress positions, etc.) ...

I read the link, Manning is NOT being tortured. That word carries a connotation that isn’t being met by the evidence.
