I remembered it had a famous designer, I just didn’t have a chance to look earlier. Thank you for helping out!

What’s “too high?” You can easily get any number of mechanical watches in the few hundred dollar range.

I’ll grant that there are jewelry and status reasons involved at varying levels, but perhaps a better analogy to help you understand a watch guy’s perspective on mechanical watches would be a comparison of two cars. Say, a modern Taycan ($82k before options) vs. the 1973 Carrera RS linked below ($600k on BaT).

“It’s a good car to lease for $350 a month”

Agreed, it’s just boring. The “classic” livery may be seen by some to be very midcentury modern but I always thought it looked great, and it’s certainly distinctive. I’d also argue that it’s become iconic over ~50 years and shouldn’t be changed.

I was today years old when I learned you could get a single-cab Tundra as recently as 2020. I’ve literally never seen a current-gen in single-cab spec.

No doubt there are plenty of companies aside from Parler which don’t deserve the publicity of a sponsorship.

I am a privileged white straight person who can also say this “shit doesn’t matter” too much in my personal everyday life, but that doesn’t mean it “doesn’t matter,” full stop. It very much does.

Agreed. At a reasonable price point the little truck would be a hilarious extra vehicle/Home Depot run truck, despite the small bed. I’d be interested.

Yeah. I’m around the same age and it’s been crazy to watch two such dominant drivers becoming the greatest of all time during our short lifespan to date, basically back to back.

Hamilton fan here, and I’ve always liked Bottas as well. He’s a very good driver, if a bit more “mechanical” than Hamilton and Verstappen who are more innately and naturally gifted.

Spoken as me, I don’t want to drive any car I built or worked on.

I came here to post exactly this. Enjoy your star.

I own a Ti Sport Carbon and highly, highly recommend it to everyone. It’s the only car in its class that actually wants to be fun and makes every drive an event.

My buddy has a loaded manual hatchback spec’d exactly as pictured. It’s a fantastic little car. Quick enough to be fun, gas mileage is absurd, great-looking, and dead reliable. He plans to pair it with an RS7 which is none of those things (because it won’t just be “quick enough,” it’ll be “insanely fast”).

They said they’re from Asia... Iraq is in Asia. Coincidence? I THINK NOT. Clearly Iraq has created these Weapons of Murderhornet Destruction (WMD).

Fair and accurate, although I find the current ~4 year life expectancy engineered into everything to be gross and wasteful. Comparing my 37 year old 911 to my newer daily, I just don’t see the latter making it that long given the amount of computers in it.

What was wrong with buttons for auxiliary controls? Integrating that stuff into a screen which requires eyes off the road seems unsafe to me.

Interesting. Sounds like I’m in the same demographic as you and my polling/ranting shows the opposite.

That’s similar to the SQ5; if it fits in a “normal” gauge area I have no problem with it.
