Fair and accurate, although I find the current ~4 year life expectancy engineered into everything to be gross and wasteful. Comparing my 37 year old 911 to my newer daily, I just don’t see the latter making it that long given the amount of computers in it.

What was wrong with buttons for auxiliary controls? Integrating that stuff into a screen which requires eyes off the road seems unsafe to me.

Interesting. Sounds like I’m in the same demographic as you and my polling/ranting shows the opposite.

That’s similar to the SQ5; if it fits in a “normal” gauge area I have no problem with it.

Does anyone want a 33 inch screen? I’m cool with digital gauges, the dash in my fiancee’s SQ5 is great, but I do not want my cars to have interiors that look like a space ship.

Tolls on 95 are already in discussion AFAIK, at least in Fairfield County; they’ll be “boothless” as with most new installations.

Yeah I had the same question about the bed, if this went all the way to the bed floor it’d work but otherwise anywhere between fully closed and fully open would be like having a rear window open all the time.

We could also reintroduce WWII-style art showing each takedown.

There’s a difference between a homage and a flat out fake/replica. By all means get a Steinhart if you want the vague aesthetics of a Submariner for less money; personally I’m not crazy about homages but they fit the use case you’re outlining. But buying a fake is wrong for a variety of reasons.

Some people do, there are tons of less well-known brands out there turning out incredibly high-quality pieces at the same price point as Patek. A. Lange & Sohne is a personal favorite of mine.

Nah, people get robbed while traveling all the time and noticeable watches like the Nautilus, Royal Oak, Submariner, Datejust, Richard Mille stuff, are very common targets.

One is entirely handmade and hand-finished; none of that flawless engraving is done by a machine, and all those pieces in the movement are installed and regulated manually. True high-end luxury watches like those from Patek, Rolex, A. Lange & Sohne, Audemars Piguet, etc. also have things like astonishing build

The Storm of War by Andrew Roberts is a great read. He goes into all these nuanced differences and reasons for Allied victory beyond “they won X battle” to give a more clear understanding of just how much better the Allies were than the Axis powers. And it’s done in a modern/readable and engaging way, considering that
