Those were on the early G-body Monte Carlo SS, also, if you didn’t spring for the aluminum wheels.

You must be fun at parties.
... daily driving a straight-piped school bus from the early-90s(?) is either insane, or the most badass thing I’ve ever heard. I’m not sure which.
I almost replied something to that effect, since the “utility” argument kind of rules it out since it’s basically a people carrier, but my brain tied itself in knots trying to work out how the Wrangler could possibly not be an SUV.
350hp in an SUV, tuned right, is more than enough. That’s SQ5 performance and those are about 5.1 seconds to 60. My fiancee has one and it’s a riot.
That’s not a toss-up... if it doesn’t mention the chain guides not being fixed, they haven’t been done. That’s an engine-out repair which runs upwards of $5,000, and the engine will grenade if it isn’t done. Not the kind of thing one forgets to include in a listing.
Based on some research from a while back when I was contemplating a questionable Daily Driver purchase, you’re bang on at ~$10k.
I’m in favor of a targeted law banning the illuminated Mercedes star and sending everyone who ordered a Benz with one to jail for at least 18 months for outrageous and flagrant douchebaggery.
I’d do an LHD non-NAS Defender import if I had the time/space/spousal sign-off for an additional useless car. Commandos are cool but don’t do it for me personally; I’d go with a K5 or a Ramcharger or similar if I was playing in the 4WD space and didn’t go Defender.
Maybe it has to do with FIA license credits? They have to compete X% of World Championship events in Y series before moving up to higher tiers.
In fairness, given the quality of the metro-NY roads, a desert racing suspension setup is probably ideal for the conditions.
I’m American also but I seriously covet a D110 even though I’ve driven one and they’re basically roadgoing tractors.
My guess also going by the wheels.
It’s definitely about optics, both the Mercedes brand and the foreign manufacturer angle. The American public is definitely ignorant enough to freak out about both these aspects.
I think it’s the phone market as a whole reaching a point of diminishing returns. Similarly, phones are now fast enough and have sufficient hard drive size that the replacement cycle has lengthened so market share matters more than sales.
That’s why you gotta sell them on the “3(+) cars is correct” route pre-conception.
Benchmark doesn’t have to be the pinnacle of anything. A 911 is seen as the best all-around sports car to actually use, a Submariner is the best all-around watch, and an iPhone is the best all-around phone. They all perfectly balance performance, reliability, functionality, style, and useability.
I lobbied for a Macan S but she wasn’t wild about the image of us owning two Porsches in our early 30s (which is fair from a perception standpoint). She got the SQ5 with the S-sport package; the air suspension is great and personally I love the ZF8 in every car I’ve driven with one.
Light can be fine, devoid of feedback is unacceptable.
One of my favorite cars in Forza Horizon 4 is an AWD Crown Vic on rally suspension, complete with a light bar and NYPD livery.
