I’m not sure if anything has changed, but I tried out MTurk a few years ago (5 years, maybe?) and I could see the tasks and pick what I wanted to work on. Nothing was gruesome, nothing was personal, nothing was obscene. But each paid cents and probably wouldn’t be what someone going there looking for serious money…
