@DiscoZombie: The data lock-in / control is the issue for me.. Like the Twitter situation where you can't export more than a certain amount is just like data loss but that I'm the one losing the data, not them.

@nolabar10der: The spartan, utilitarian nature of Google is why I prefer Bing.

@Earth KING: Yahoo will still be responsible for the user experience, even though the results are from Bing

I'm trying to figure out why everyone gets a Google Voice App but Windows Mobile. If the hardware variety is a problem, just make it for VGA touchscreen smartphones.

@Kyang: Hadn't thought of this. On Windows 7 we're going to want title bar space to make use of Aero snap. I already have a tricky time with Chrome

@CnEY: Love the Strata back/forward buttons

No need to install a browser-specific guesture recognizer. I hear StrokeIt works now but for those who it doesn't or more importantly if you're like me and can't install it on a work machine (due to licensing.. StrokeIt is for personal use computers) there's High Sign which I think may be better than StrokeIt.

There's something about the titling of this series that doesn't sit well with me: "For what it's worth" and even "Remains" make these issues sound so inferior. I think everyone of these items is notable and newsworthy.. at least other blogs found them important enough to post.

@dagwud: Already hide my menu bar too.

Good, if not inevitable (on Windows) direction. However there's something about the Tools button size/placement I'm not feeling. As always, I'm sure we can customize the heck out of it.

VOTE: Smartphone, with Google Maps or Bing or TomTom or something. Who wants a separate dedicated turn-by-turn device?

@ri59: I like this way, because you see exactly how many people in a tech crowd defect from Google, which is significant

Of choice? Bing. Of convenience when choice isn't so easy like when I'm on Chrome or Opera Mobile or the Wii? Google.

@Webran61: I do believe Ballmer hinted at free ad-supported versions alongside subscriber-based versions

"iPhone, Kindle, Android, and Palm Pre devices"

-childish looks: skinnable, plus I don't see what part of it is supposed to appeal to kids

HighSign is the new new
