His definition of the "Tri-State Area" isn't right, but he is right that it isn't entirely Yankee grey. Going by the defined area of the New York-Newark CSA (and discounting the parts of that CSA that are in Pennsylvania, which actually are all Yankee grey), the sliver of Hunterdon and Mercer Counties in NJ along the

I'd imagine the largest section of transplants in New York are from Boston, and the largest section in Boston are from New York. I grew up in a well to do suburb in North Jersey (about 20 miles from Manhattan) and we had more people in our neighborhood originally from New England (my father included, hence I grew up a

Huh. Usually Georgetown trips quite a few weeks before April.

If I'm a pitcher, I'd be hoping every guy just sits and admires his shot when it doesn't go out of the ballpark. Who knows, if he's 100% hustling out of the box he may have been able to try for an inside the park job, which is significantly more embarrassing. Be mad at yourself for giving up a shot that allowed Gomez

Devils attendance over the last however many years has been about the same as, say, the Avalanche. I don't hear very many cracks about Colorado's attendance.

That's kind of a shitty joke, then.

Yeah, sorry, I can't say I get the joke. Sorry to get you all bent out of shape, though.

I'm actually surprised to see all of the Maritime Provinces going for the Habs. I've always heard that, besides the heavily French parts of New Brunswick, people there are fans of all Boston teams.

What other playoff team would have the most Facebook fans in Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama, etc.?

These are only playoff teams, so no Devils. The state would be Devils if they were in, dumb jokes about attendance aside. With them out, everything north of 1-195 would likely go for the Rangers by this metric (though probably more people rooting for the Rangers to lose).

If they were in, they'd easily be the top team for NJ. South Jersey isn't nearly as populated as North Jersey, but there aren't very many Devils fans in the Philly suburbs. That is completely Flyers territory, taking away from the Rangers fans that do exist in North Jersey.

God dammit, Kinja
