+1000. Been autocrossing on and off since '96 and doing road racing since 2002. AutoX is vastly less likely to result in an accident than, say, your morning commute.

AutoX also tends to be organized by sanctioning bodies that want zero incidents, which is a serious contrast to the "rubbin'' is racing' thought process

Ding ding! Hard'a'port, Cap'n!

Nice plan.

Not 100 percent new to Autocross, but fairly green. And I've never autocrossed my current car.

Speed Buggy flashbacks.

The best part about autocrossing is getting to meet people of all different walks of life that share a common interest.

This is not a typical autoX though. Both the price and setting is vastly different. Most SCCA stuff around here in SE Michigan is $45($60 for non member, so join that SCCA), non-SCCA regional club stuff is $25-$35. Granted most are not like this Lime Rock stuff on a track. Is it an SI? In that case, welcome to autocross. That is the most dominant car in the Street Touring Compact Class. Not kidding.

nope, thats a 944 full on.

yeah, but how much does it cost? I used to be similarly anti-autocross, but this was a blast.

This is bogus information. No club worth its salt will create a course that will put you in danger of totalling your car from a simple lawnmowing excursion, if for no other reason than the insurance they're required to carry insists on a minimum distance between the course and any obstructions.

That Cayenne you have a picture of looks squished.

For the longest time I've been reading your handle as Automach not Automatch. Lol no idea why just random thought.

that is the single most heinous spelling of of competitor I have ever seen
