I don’t know if you should call Reddit a largely shitty place. I mean, I feel like https://www.reddit.com/r/superbowl alone makes up for at least 200 bad subreddits.

Down with April Fools!

Yes. It’s one of the more famous shoot-em-up franchises. Been around since the mid-80's. Personally, I generally prefer it over Gradius and Darius.

Same. Hoping for some solid kaiju action in the Reiwa era.

You’re really stretching the limits of plausible deniability here. The way I see it, you either:

I mean, if we want to get back to the original point, all you really need to do is look at all the environments and texture detail in games like MGS to see quite easily that nothing on N64 matches that level of detail, even from the most elite devs. MGS isn’t even the most impressive of games on the system.

Not sure if trolling or just insane. Entertaining either way. I like how “bending over backwards to help MGS” means picking a screenshot as zoomed-in as possible to show off the simple character models and pixelization.

Lol. Feel free to take a poll. I think you’ll find yourself in the vast minority singing the praises of Hybrid Heaven, of all games.

I’d argue that the lack of eyes and facial animation in MGS was more a combination of style choice and budget/time restrictions than anything technical. I’d also argue that MGS is a far, far better-looking game than Hybrid Heaven, with better character models, environments, and animation.

Uh, well, you can go ahead and argue for a sans-serif font for legibility purposes, but I’d say Helvetica in particular would be a serious stylistic clash from a graphic design standpoint. I don’t think you’d want this looking like those iOS ports of Final Fantasy games.

Or Red XIII dressed up like a Shinra Soldier.

I wish Square-Enix would take a note from the PC-version’s mod community and deliver us AI-upscaled HD backgrounds though.

Superior processing power, but inferior texture memory and polygon drawing ability. Also, some developers managed to work around the PSX’s slow drive in clever ways to reduce apparent load times.

Aurochs, with the “s” is actually the proper singular. You may now resume crying.

Tough-but-fair is a hallmark of the SoulsBorne games and they all have avenues you can take advantage of to make the experience easier.

The show has gotten more and more uneven, with season 7 being outright bad, BUT it did have the interesting side effect of getting me excited to get back into the books in the hope of maybe actually experiencing a good story.

RIP in peace.

Yeah, I WANT to be interested in this, but I fail at the most basic of rhythm tasks. My brain is just not tuned for tunes.

Nope!

Hot take: Drew Coombs is the only true Dante.
