It should be removed from this list. It isn’t even isometric, even by the loose definition used in this article.

Well, I hope you made it to King/Queen in that case, at least.

Correct, you are.

I wouldn’t say it’s rigged. There have been some pretty big divides in popularity, but I expect the win/loss percentages to always be pretty close considering it’s randomized teams going up against one another. Since wins are more valuable (and buffed recently), I don’t think we’ll see any wide gulfs in total points.

My experience leads me to think this is probably true. I think the age-divide was also pretty evident on hot dogs vs marshmallows.

Ah, right. I forgot about that one. I was on team waterslide and couldn’t hardly find a good group to save my life.

Except that win percentage determined this one?

? The less-popular team won, which is the first time that’s happened, as far as I know.

I feel the same way, generally.

This has gone way off topic, but from what I’ve seen, whites are killed by police about 50% more than blacks, but if things were equivalent based on population then whites would be getting killed over 4 times as often. In that sense, the attention seems justified.

All hail the return of Undo Dog.

In the last Splatfest they increased the value of wins from 2x to 4x, so that compensates a bit for the popularity aspect. Roller Coasters vs Water Slides ended up very close despite slides having something like 64% of the popularity vote.

Agreed on the single-player front. I found it very satisfying. I wouldn’t mind more someday though!

The “New IP” thing I think has been blown out of proportion. It’s the first new one in so long from EAD, not all of Nintendo.

I’m 34 and I think the Wii U is the best system since the PS2. Meanwhile my PS4 is collecting dust, though my PC gets some good playtime.

This makes me want more Splatoon single-player content.

Counterpoint: This requires the purchase of an Xbox One system. The Wii U has a superior selection of new titles, in my opinion.

Rather than redefine “nonplussed” as the internet seems to have done, I vote we scrub it from the english language.

The most frustrating thing to me about it is just how inconsequential the enemies seem, like they’re only there to power your weapons. Almost all the gameplay I’ve seen consists largely of straight hallways and open space, with plenty of room to avoid encounters entirely. The gameplay looks as bland as the visuals.

There’s a small part of me (an insane part that imagines I have the extra money to blow) that wants to buy a SECOND WiiU just for Splatoon co-op.
