@Candyman: I think the hint was "go take a flying leap, Toyota" and I agree — you CAN use the same name for different commercial products/services as long as they aren't in the same market.

@aeronaut: You don't need an SSN to get paid for something. Isn't that what taxpayer ID numbers are for? (not SSNs). Besides, I've seen other magazines that also pay for photos that DO NOT demand your SSN.

FineScale Modeler magazine has a "reader's gallery" feature in which they solicit photos from readers. In the section on how to submit, they include the mailing address and website info for print and digital images, a request to include your name, a photo description, address, mailer if you want your printed image

Maybe he doesn't like classical music?

@binaryspiral: Seems too much of a hassle for something that will eventually be easy to get. Find a place that will just let you preorder. I did that when I got my Nikon D200 which was in short supply for a while.

@Boter: You could sue the company now for failing to pay you the wages owed, couldn't you? Your time sheet says you worked X hours, yet you got paid for X-Y hours. That's illegal, as failing to pay at least minimum wage for time worked is against the law. You were basically the company's slave for the "missing" time

How exactly is it not illegal to lie and say the tradein was sold when it wasn't? Is that not fraud?

@It_Figures: It wouldn't be a life hack if he/she didn't, would it?

@G-Dog: Huh? I'm a Mac user, and I've done exactly that many times at work, both still and video capture.

@HeartBurnKid: Yeah, let's see a lawyer defend that in court if anyone ever gets in legal trouble for doing this.

Sure, if you want to break the law. While I think it's cool that this can be done (in other words, don't take this statement wrongly), is it really a good idea to advocate doing illegal things like this?

... okay, what's a sugar daddy? (this is how out of touch I am with slang)

@carguy: Then why is the GTI selling like hotcakes?

@carguy: "Don't bother doing this, it won't happen" is precisely why things don't happen. Get off your butt and try to change things, or they really never will.

@apexpredator: J Mays designed both the Passat and the Mondeo. There's a reason they look similar.

What "new focus"? We get the first-gen focus. IT IS NOT NEW.

Simple: that you have to practically have a negative clothing size to have anything that fits you right.

Performance is definitely getting less expensive these days. I have a VW GTI 4-door that I'm loving, and the price starts right around $22,500. (I have a loaded version that's quite a bit more, but the base model is quite well-equipped). VW, from what I'm told, padded the 0-60 published times a bit so the GTI is

@Hyman Decent: For an oil change? That's REALLY weird... that's one of the most basic maintenance things there is. I wouldn't go back to that place. Bah.
