He would be 78 at the start of a third term. Sadly, longevity appears to be in his genes (his dad lived to 93 and his mom lived to age 88), but we can all hope that maybe that 10,000th cheeseburger will do him in sooner rather than later.

Bob Dylan’s “Masters of War” captures my sentiment about Trump:
All workers should have guarantees that they will only be fired for good cause; that they won’t get fired for no cause or for bad cause; that they will be paid a decent living wage; that they will receive decent benefits and decent working conditions. If a business can’t provide these guarantees for its workers, then…
Yes, and how long does it take to learn how to expertly pick a crab? Do you need to take college courses to learn it?
No, if the Koreas come together and reach a peace deal and North Korea denuclearizes, award the prize to the leaders of North and South Korea and leave out Trump. If people react to a loose cannon to avert the harm that the loose cannon could cause, you award the people who averted the harm — you don’t award the the…
Uh, if you increased the pay to $100/hour you would have plenty of skilled workers materialize out of thin air.
Yes, but this also means there is no way in hell they’d give the award to Trump. They surely hate Trump even more than they hated Bush.
What the hell. If you are dealing with a loose cannon, you award the people who averted the damage that could have been caused by the loose cannon. You don’t award the loose cannon itself.
Seriously, when would you ever need to cook with a dishwasher? I get the concept of cooking with only a microwave oven, or only a rice machine, or only a hot car engine, when when are you ever going to have a dishwasher but no other kitchen appliance to cook with?
On the one hand, adorable puppy love.
Well, another dilemma is that if you go far enough back in time, Hollywood was pretty much a bunch of Weinsteins.
Certainly, the Academy should create a mechanism for stripping previous award winners of their awards and then awarding the prize to the runner-up.
That’s nice. Sounds like you didn’t buy a house during the last housing bubble, didn’t get laid off during the great recession, didn’t end up back in a rental after a foreclosure or short sale, and didn’t end up not qualifying for a new mortgage because banks now insist on perfect credit and a big down payment.
Wait, no LGBTQ otter pops? This is so cis-biased. Boycott!
I was speaking idealistically, about what good government SHOULD do for the people. :)
I don’t know if it’s typical, but it is an industry where the union is very strong (another example is probably the guild system in the film industry) and therefore the union, even more than the employer, seems to control access to the jobs.
Unions do a great job of protecting their members, but the real problem is that all workers deserve the protections that union members receive. Like fair compensation, decent benefits, and job security. Think about how exclusive some unions are, like the longshoreman’s union. Super hard to get in, but if you do get…
