No, no exceptions. It’s the priest-penitent privilege, arguably as important as lawyer-client privilege. If you killed somebody, you should be able to tell your lawyer or your priest without worrying that your communications with your lawyer or your priest will be used against you in court.

I am actually surprised that the priest broke the priest-penitent privilege. In some states, this would not be admissible as evidence at all, and the priest arguably violated one of the Catholic sacraments by revealing what was said during confession.
