The author of this article really thinks that writers are acting out fantasies in these scenes? I mean, all of the shows mentioned do not show strip clubs in the same context. Sometimes they are meant for a cheap thrill (see Entourage). Sometimes they're meant as a joke, such as the case with How I Met Your Mother.

Please, read her actual blog post before responding. A tshirt in no way supports the gay is a choice issue.

Read her blog post and the comments on it. It should answer it all.

We can argue about the validity of any article, you're right. But I think that our efforts are better used towards actual individuals that hurt the GLBT movement rather than a woman who clearly is on our side and merely couldn't find the "gay-allies" t-shirt. Again, she's not trying to steal anyone's identity, she was

Eh, then you have to go after Kurt's "likes boys" shirt, as well. If we're talking about the episode, then yeah, the message was mangled. Was Kurt ashamed of being gay? No. So why was it the equivalent of "loosey caboosey" and Rachel's "nose"?

Yeah, she literally picked one up at the merch table and it was the most appropriate shirt (given the selection) for the message she was trying to give.

Ah, I love when people assume I'm of the "default" (white, heterosexual). I actually am of the "liking girls" variety and I don't feel threatened by this in the least. There's a time and a place to get mad at a condescending sentiment, and this ain't one of 'em. I read her full blog post and she's clearly coming from

Holy Reading Too Much Into A Situation, Batman!

They really gotta stop using that film location. It's too damn recognizable (to genre fans especially).

A surprisingly large number of celebs read Jez (and Gawker, io9,etc...)

Oh just making a silly Jasmine-worshipping jokey joke.

Wait are you talking about her holiness Jasmine at the end there? Because she's well, she's just ~amazing~

It's "ho" not "hoe", NM.

That is the dad from Talledega Nights, no? If so, then I fully expect him to teach Sookie about being a real Nacar driver by strapping a kilo of coke to the undercarriage of a car, calling the cops, and forcing her to drive with a puma.

Ugh, I completely blocked Sam's storyline out. That was horrible. Pointless and insulting to the character.

Makeup to make him look less vampire-like to constituents?

For whatever reason, I decided to rewatch the last season of TB. Man, there were some really great moments, but I still don't understand the direction they took with Tara, Jason, and the "Sookie's a fairy" storylines. Tara, despite being a gorgeous woman, is portrayed in the most grotesque manner possible. Jason did

That was crazy awkward.

Underrated piece of work, to be honest.

She has ALWAYS been a crappy stereotype. On a show that lauds itself on being progressive, it places Mercedes in the most typical, annoying, loud and angry role that black women are pushed into. I don't necessarily care of she has a boyfriend or not, but give her at least ONE storyline. Something. Everyone has gotten
