“What were you thinking? You could have been robbed!”

I don’t like him or his shtick. But then again I’m an adult.

NASA should insist on having those agents who handled the phone, and their superiors, investigated as insider threats to see if they were compromised and gathering intel from targeted US government personnel for a foreign entity.

constitutional rights are diminished at the border (or in this case, check point)

Why would he consent to the search?

CBP has a bit more authority than you would expect, and constitutional rights are diminished at the border (or in this case, check point). Not saying it’s right, just stating the facts. The CBP has almost no oversight at all. Their policies are not released to the public, along with their statistics, like shot fired,

He consented to the search because they told him they have the authority and he was being detained. Which is totally understandable.

People have to start refusing to comply. Every person who goes along with it makes it more difficult for the rest and emboldens the agents to be as heavy handed as they feel they can get away with

The question no one is asking.

But can the police issue tickets on private property?

Definitely NOT a good idea to be leaving keys in an unattended car.

Your primary reason for not owning a car is...cops?

Umm when are you actually using the buttons in a period that you cannot look off of the road for a second in?

If you want to predict the future, look at the past. If Trump does build a border wall and impose stiff tariffs on Mexican car imports, I think it’s obvious what’s going to happen. What happened when a fence was put up along parts of the Texas/Mexico border? Did the drug cartels give up and go home? No, they built
