Had Elizabeth run I could have cast a vote for a nationalist, a populist, a thoughtful and honorable person who carries with her no sense of superiority or pretension. She is noble in her actions and usually in her words. Hell, she wrote a personal finance book that is still working its way through my mind.

If you’re not looking back, may I suggest you look forward? Get involved on the local level, run for city council or school board, or get involved in the campaign of someone who you respect on the local level. If you feel voting is unproductive, there are other ways to be involved and make a difference in politics.

Trump will say anything if it means people will support him. I do not take him seriously and wish others would wake up and realize this. No politician keeps all of their promises. It’s candy for the electorate to get them to come to the polls.

The problem is he’s not going to get them. He’ll simply cause the government to dig in. The Castros have done fine for themselves for over 60 years, Cuba’s not going to change because Trump demands it.

They’re going to slowly redefine dissent as bullying, mark my words. Who will be “bullies” in Trump’s America? Journalists, protesters, private citizens with opinions the Trump’s don’t personally care for.
