Reaper was robbed, for sure. Tyler Labine seems remarkably not bitter for a guy whose chance to shine has been taken from him so many times.

Beat was stuck in my cd player for a solid month or so last year when I pulled it from the shelf for a revisit.

Wow. Despite recognizing the voices (a little) I would have never called this as the PWEI that I know and love. I like it though. Just a couple of days ago I downloaded the 2011 Cherry Red reissue of Cure for Sanity which is my personal favorite PWEI album. Some of the alternate takes on the second disc are pretty

I boosted a vhs copy of Fear of a Black Hat from my college town's video store back in '95. So much weed and laughter that semester. I'm pretty sure I still have it.

I want to show some love for one of their soundtrack cuts that wasn't mentioned. "Benz or Beamer" from the soundtrack of the utterly forgettable New Jersey Drive is a banger. Don't sleep.

Andrea's white?

I would argue that Timbaland's production style cribbed from Dn'B and his emergence predates "B.O.B." by several years.

Outkast occupies a very special place in my heart as far as my favorite hip-hop groups are concerned. I was on the cusp of leaving my teens, in my sophomore year of college at a university in upstate New York, and hosting a rap/R&B show at a college radio station when I came across Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik in a

Nice obit. And even nicer to read these comments and see so many people have reverence for a man who certainly deserved it. Stay classy (enough) AV Clubbers.

I know, right?!

A friend of mine who is half Filipino/half Japanese (crazy, right?!) would commonly refer to WOF as "Wheel of White Supremacy" because it always seems like people of color get gaffled on the show. I sent him this clip and told him that his people just broke the wheel of white supremacy.

I think My Life in the Bush of Ghosts was less about cultural appropriation and more about David Byrne and Brian Eno being dope as fuck.

Still sexy as hell.

While I was pretty sure I was gay (and oh so conflicted about it) when I was in jr. high/high school, I was also usually attracted to the tv and movie stars who were far from the pretty boy types like Depp. I definitely had the hots for Peter DeLuise on 21 Jumpstreet, John Goodman on Roseanne, James Avery on Fresh

What is it about Terrence Howard that makes casting directors think "hip-hop?" The fact that he sorta pulled it off in Hustle & Flow is just shy of a major coup. He's good-looking and an ok actor but corny as hell. Plus I get the distinct feeling that he doesn't even like hip-hop.

Heads up: the title of the episode in the second stray observation is incorrect. I really liked that only Groff and Castillo's names were featured in the starring credits. It was a nice way to put a fine point on such well done episode.

Props for not connecting this with the first season of Breaking Bad. You could pick much worse gateways to geekery but this song is the only calling card one needs to start swooning over Darondo's music.

What the fuck is this dude talking about? I'm serious. Most of this read as completely nonsensical. And if he's so well-versed on what it's like to deal with black people, basically flashing his "hood pass," he should know that the quickest way to get it revoked is to talk about having it in the first place.

I haven't seen the show and those people weren't mentioned in the review. I was more or less hanging on Todd's assertion that the Latino main cast member was a boost to the diversity quotient. Seems more like a nudge.

How does having one Latino guy in the main cast make it racially "diverse?" That said, it's pretty much in line with the racial/ethnic makeup of most groups of gay friends in SF, no matter which gay niche you fall into.
