Ivanka.

I only learned that this year, watching one of my kids totally struggle with a concept. It makes perfect sense... and, proud mom, I would be willing to bet a lot of money (that I don’t have) that s/he inherited it from me.

Exactly. How many media outlets have the pockets to continually defend themselves against frivolous lawsuits? Very, VERY few. And the journalists themselves, working many times with skeleton staffs and trying to cover several areas of expertise, certainly don’t have the $$. It would definitely hurt.

Soooo sweet! Don’t know which I love more: the little brother’s laughter, or the sister in the background saying “THAT’S why you cleaned up the guest bedroom!” LOL

Holding books and having no idea what to do with them? Seems the perfectly apt analogy.

So I was fascinated by those Kristin Bedford photos in the NYT link, and then spotted a bust of Uncle Sam in the background of one photo. It bears more than a passing resemblance to a certain Cheeto:

You don’t choose or reject Batman, Ben.

“and a MYRIAD OF OTHER...”

This would make a great Tweet by 45... is that you, DJT?

Pity the assistant who had to haul him/herself out of the truck into the whipping wind to take a photo and post it.

This detail is PERFECTION:

So let’s get into the choice of that portrait of Andrew Jackson, 7th U.S. president, in the background of the Oval Office. I get that Trump likes him because he was a “populist.” Let’s review other happy facts about Andrew Jackson:

Just watched that last night, and it felt eerily familiar. Now I know why.

My twins are 15, TrainGoesChooChoo. I HEAR YOU.

Oh, please, Jez, keep tabs on this. Because between PP and this I know where my extra pennies will be going.

While you, Piers, are a tabloid journalist, erstwhile chatshow host, talent show judge, host of a CNN show cancelled for poor ratings and a Murdoch flunky. What’s your point?

I am so hoping that you, in reality, are one of my daughters, and I am the lucky mother in question.

They don’t read newspapers, silly palmofnapalm. That would require, at least for most good media organizations, that they at some point pay something (even for a news organization’s partial paywall). That they would read beyond social media posts shared by the self-selected family and friends whom they follow. That

“If something happens to him, then it happens to him.”
