My local public recreation center costs as much - or more - than many YMCAs and health clubs, but I really enjoy swimming in the pool there. I now work there 2 hours/week and get a free year-round employee membership, which saves me $700+ annually. Plus, I enjoy teaching classes there in the evenings!

A few years back I pledged to volunteer less. I was always the guy to sign up first for a charity event, chair some committee, etc. It was eating into my free time and I found myself spending my workday on my volunteer responsibilities. I rarely had time for myself.
A friend booked a r/t flight to Florida on Allegiant Airlines from an airport approximately 45 miles from my house and invited me along. FWIW, live 9 miles from a major International Airport and hold a United MileagePlus Visa card, which allows me to bring 2 checked bags for free on my flights.
