Kino is definitely a girl. This is only ambiguous in the first novel, and not intended to be after that.

I think the most interesting part of that Kamiya quote is what the success specifically meant for Platinum, particularly the part where it raised the quality of applicants they’re seeing. It’s easy to forget that people apply to place who make the sort of games they want to work on.
