“Now you have to take stories like that with a grain of salt,” Allen added

we had one of these on the farm I grew up on. By the time I had consciousness, it had a wooden bed and was a “farm only” vehicle. But the 4 wheel worked, and because of its short wheelbase, and its 4 beefy BF Goodrich TAs, we basically couldnt get it stuck, even if we tried. We used it as a trolley for sled riding

The scout isn’t just one of the very first true SUVs, it’s even the underpinnings of one of the first true luxury SUVs. The Scout II provided the chassis and drivetrain for the Monteverdi Safari http://www.productioncars.com/gallery.php?ca…, which was a seriously handsome reimagining of the Scout II and holds up,

I still contend that these are prettier than 997s!

Best/only sub 5k sleeper I could find on ebay:

on the money! Just a small clarification 1whp per 10 pounds.

This. The perfect amount is 1:10 hp to weight. I had a weight reduced civic hatch in high school with only 220hp, that was good for that FWD chassis.

100 times this. I had a 65 Mustang with ~200 HP and it was perfect and I think if I could get my FXT to around about 275 it would be adequate. Looks like a trip to Cobb is in my future.

That’s exactly what I was coming to say. Whatever gets me to 10lbs/hp.

Honestly, I think 1 horsepower per 10 lbs is about right. So, a 3000 lbs car should have about 300hp, and a 4000 lbs car should have 400hp.

Nice catch!

Any Porsche from about 1999-2003.

No - I went for aftermarket as it has more capacity :-)

What the wing hell?

Who knew that Porsche secretly collaborated with Ferrari on the 993.

Great car. I have 30K miles on mine. US serial # 1. They painted it P 4/5 Red for me. No real problems. Needs snow tires in anything over 1 inch.
