I didn’t screencap it because I didn’t think it would ever be relevant, but they had native advertising in my Facebook feed that I mistook for Facebook game shovelware right up until they said “Paradox Interactive”. Complete with odd jokes and strangely populist appeals to “best strategy game!”

Super Mario Brothers 3 was the first game I was ever “hyped” for. I got to play it first in an arcade cabinet at the local ski resort the winter before it came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Nintendo Power also teased me with articles on it. Then. THEN I had to wait until somebody actually bought the game…

Well that’s a damn shame. The tech looked very impressive what with the voxel based destruction and whatnot. The crafting/building possibilities were great too! I was actually looking forward to playing this one!
