Color me cynical here. I sat and listened to the Air Combat Command (ACC) commander explaining to my Wing how the F-35 was going to take up missions currently served by the A-10... I sensed a lot of self delusion going on at command levels regards that aircraft program.

Currently Laguna Seca isn’t up to spec to be allowed to race F1 cars. They would need to dump a ton of money into making the runoff areas larger, money that they don’t have.

I remember that show. It was a SAR demo with PJs, blackhawks, a-10s, and a c-130 with PJs on ATVs riding out the back. That final explosion at the end destroyed a window or two in a building behind the grandstands. So yeah, ‘blown away’ sounds right.
