Ford EcoSport. I know you’re ready to crucify me for that answer so HOLD ON A SEC AND LET ME EXPLAIN.

It’s legal since the only people at risk are those who have decided to bear that risk.

Is this your way of saying you have a treasure trove of The Americans fanfic somewhere, because...I need it.

You’re right, it’s really hard to make a new car company these days. I’ll make sure to let Tesla, Rivian, and Lucid know about it.

I believe Jalopnik’s current Bad Take to End All Bad Takes is the “Pizza is not a meal” article. Godspeed in your attempts to beat that one.

Why not the Kona/Niro EVs? On paper, they seem pretty 1:1 to the Bolt. With tax credits, they should come in well under $30k as well.

    I Am Not A Leper?

Yes, an AMC Eagle and a Volga 4x4 were the cars that first popped into my head when looking at the Polestar 2. And — I can’t stress this enough — this is a positive thing.

May I interest you in any Japanese truck from the 80s?

I get that not every Miata needs to be a $500 shitcan. No, really, it doesn’t. Trust me, there are Miatas out there which aren’t being held together by duct tape.

Whoah hey wait, 90's Volvo doesn’t count as “luxury”?

Ok, so the Daymak has good specs, but is it the fighter of the Nightmak?

I’ll play devil’s/herb’s advocate here: some of these QOTDs are a great way to learn something new. Yesterday’s underrated car thread was fucking amazing. The slideshows are a cynical means of paying the bills, but the actual QOTDs get some great people telling great stories on here.

V6 Toyota Camrys (Camries? Camrii?). They’re shockingly fast in straight lines, but you’re not getting away from terminal understeer and the wallowy suspension that place pretty low limits on cornering speeds.

“If you can’t go fast with 90 horsepower, 900 horsepower won’t help you.”

Yep, you use virtually zero fuel going downhill, but you don’t use double the fuel to go up. I touch 35mpg during ski season, when usually I hover around 32.

Oh man, it’s P-V curve time.

Because then you just have a lower-compression Otto cycle, whereas this is an Atkinson cycle.

And with shitty skeumorphic gauges to make it look extra phoned in!

Any chance it's because of emissions instead?
