I guess, but the coordination it would take. Are they all on cell phones with each other? You’ve really got to stick together in a tight pack of three to make that happen on busy freeways. I guess that’s what these cons will call a work day.

I literally just watched this video because, from the screen cap, I thought the guy would sound like Boner Stabone.

Never had that experience with male friends. They were always just my homies. But, everyone experiences women and men differently in society. I see your argument.

Check out my other responses on this.

Wow! Who has the time and the six or seven friends it would take to do this?

I just flew them with my toddler last week from the East Coast to the West Coast and it was miserable. Thank you for reminding me to finish both my email complaint and snail mail complaint to them now.

I was going to ask if you were Catholic.

You made me laugh out loud. Thank you for this. It’s been a rough holiday season for us GenXrs and this had me rolling.

None of that has ever been my experience, but you definitely make good points.

I do think she believes they’re rewarding. That wasn’t my original point overall, however. In communicating with KiddyKat710, I came to see I wasn’t clear enough. Kiddy said only Madeleine can define this for herself and I completely agree.

Coming from a matriarchal culture, that was not my experience, but I would never invalidate yours. Glad you now have those friendships.

I 100% agree with you that this is her analysis of female friendships and that the patriarchy sets up our perceptions of each other.

That’s not what she writes above.

My exact thought. It was a good piece, but that kept ringing in my ear. Why/how in the world are female friendships more confusing than a male “friend” who continues to sexually assault you or the mutual friend who tells you what you did wasn’t right?

I don’t live in Raleigh. I actually can’t stand Raleigh. It’s super country to me.

I’m not interested in it. Peace be with you.

Bay area traffic ain’t great either. BART commutes are ridiculous. Hell, I visited friends in Brooklyn this summer who live at one of the last stops on their train and they commute more than an hour one way into the city.

Native Californian who now lives in what used to be the more progressive state of North Carolina here!

I worked in tv. Three and a half hours is a looooong time. Whatever’s in there could be done in one and a half or two hours. The rest is, I’m sure, filler/teaser built in just to get people to the quarter hour for ratings.

That’s not at all what I said. I second Tammster. If he did it at age nine and didn’t understand the consequences of his actions, he wouldn’t have been charged then anyway. Think of all the friends and siblings who accidentally shoot little kids to death. They aren’t carted off to prison.
