Save the Last Dance and anything prior to that. Very few Black actresses and singers haven’t had nose jobs. I loved watching Black Girls Rock yesterday, but it’s pretty upsetting when people like Kelly Rowland (who was always a knockout) have nose jobs. They’ve had them for years and they’re really well done- just

Kerry Washington does. Love her politics and all, but I’m here to say what I always say as a Black woman: I wish she hadn’t gotten a nose job.

1. The bill was written, passed and signed by the governor in fewer than 24 hours. It was a bit hard to protest something like that.

I don’t know anything about this and haven’t experienced it myself, but just want to send some good energy your way.

I guess I’m in the minority here, but I think you also need to just hurt for a little bit. Whether the relationship was horrible or ended in the best possible way something like this could have, for me, I kind of have to sit with it all and process that it’s truly over. I, personally, can’t move on without doing that.

Wow. That was amazingly good.

This right here. You can’t get to know someone over text.

I gave up dating permanently last fall, having returned to the scene after five years. I saw so many dudes posting their kids that it blew my mind. I also nearly stroked out when a friend found out my ex had my son’s photo in some dating app (the judge told him to take it down ASAP).

I came here to say exactly this. He is laying out every victim blaming line there is.

Hahaha. So true about the naps. That’s definitely the best part.

Lapsed Catholic here who is so over religion. I do have to say that Jesus washing people’s feet was always the most unbelievably kind thing to me. It literally still blows my selfish mind.

I had my little one right after turning 36. Funny you ask this because I was just thinking about when, ideally, I would’ve liked to get married or have kids.

I never said I wasn’t against gun control. I said I’m a huge gun control advocate. But, if you think that I, who literally fled for my and my child’s life, want to make it easier for men to kill women, so be it.

Absolutely agree with you. Read the State’s 7-piece series on DV and guns in South Carolina (sidenote: ironically, a state more liberal than North Carolina as of Wednesday).

Actually, that’s a great point. Since this moved outside of the domestic sphere and into the public with a firearm, it did rise to the level of a law enforcement showdown.

South Carolina’s a great example of what you’re talking about. Yes, it’s all wrapped up. I’ll agree with that. I’d also agree that somehow she’s- for now- survived her injuries and could have done that from a stabbing, burning or whatever.

Thank you, but that relationship is in the past. It’s funny that when I finally got out and cut the ties that I could in this jacked up legal system (we share a child), I was able to see how truly powerless, insecure and miserable he was.

If he didn’t have a gun, he’d have stabbed her or beat her to death, run her down with a car, etc. I’m the biggest advocate for gun control there is, but this is a domestic violence and control issue, not a gun issue.

Is that Soleil Moon Frye on Spiderman’s shoulder’s? The year seems about right for some Punky Power.

I actually just tweeted about this whole Aaron Carter thing (so thanks a lot, Jezebel for making me do that) Yes, I am embarrassed.
