Early 80s crash standard were not good. And that’s the era this body was designed in. This is a collector car, not for the accident prone.

If only starting another website were easy!

Nearly all of the parts and systems are beyond the end of their service lives. Anything of this age always needs something, if you define “need” as anything worn out, needing maintenance, needing calibration/alignment, or needing replacement. If you put all the lifespans of all the components of any 1994 car into a

Nice review. Like, really detailed and wonderful focus on the dynamics. Head and shoulders above the usual Jalopnik review; your colleagues should take note.

I know a lot of dumb professors who can’t arrange their lives to feed themselves. Seems like a lack of survival intelligence to me.

I did it myself in a Honda Fit.

Racing is no longer a technology development sport. We’ve bumped up too close to human and safety limits. There’s no incentive to compete in a sport where you’re limited by spec ballast, HP, etc. to a few seconds’ difference between qualifiers.

Amen. I’d rather have a spacious and well-set-up tent camp. Seems to take about as much time to erect a big 8-person dome and stake & rope a giant rain tarp (or even a simple pop-up canopy), than it does to erect a pop-up camper.

Which was more recent?

SUCH A LIFEHACK!!!

Nothing wrong with what he did. But Sam Barsanti, the king of knowing what everyone deserves and what they don’t, has the final say.

mrmocha, I’ve been here for a loooong time. And I was logging onto the Internet years before many people here were born.

People getting mad, that other people are getting mad because people aren’t getting mad.

This is at the core of the “is it Cinema” question. Superhero movies may be great art, but there’s little closeness to the human experience. A movie about losing a dad to a messy car accident may be somber but at least it’s real. How can I empathize with Spider Man if he whines about love but can do things far beyond

Exactly. Jeopardy is NOT supposed to draw attention to itself. It’s the one game show that rewards smart, well-read, well-rounded educated viewers. Quit fucking with it. Don’t crack fucking smiles. Don’t tap the brakes to make space for a quip. The host of Jeopardy is a rock. The host is pitiless. The host is gentle.

Oh fuck off, let’s hear you turn down your next promotion on those grounds.

No, I think the basic appeal of Jeopardy is the quiet classiness. All other game shows are carnivals. Jeopardy is for the all-business viewer. The smart viewer who isn’t guessing prices. Jeopardy rewards deep reading.

A cameo would be unreal hilarious. Just a few seconds, or maybe a “yes I can hear you!”.

And that’s exactly why this car doesn’t matter. The Integra you loved could only be made then. It can’t be made now. It wasn’t a body style that defined the Integra, it was an ethos that INCLUDED the era in which it was made.

Jeopardy hosts need to be outside the public discussion. Trebek built his brand slowly, over YEARS. He was a conduit, a medium, a channel for the show’s energy. He wisely stayed out of the way of the game.
