FYI anyone wondering, seat leather replacements are about $700.
I’d only get a hardtop with a ceiling hoist. Otherwise that $1k fragile shell is going to get pushed around on a dolly every time I need to use that garage space. But when I dailied my Miata I would have appreciated it.
I’m sure you’re right.
Only in a straight line. Once you take any kind of a curve, the center of mass on the high end shifts WAY to the side, while the rear of the car’s center of mass stays low. The front tires are subjected to high levels of lateral force, much more so than the rears, probably triggering understeer and potentially a flip.
Besides the measured decibels being higher in the Outback, the hours I’ve spent in that car prove to me it’s not as comfortable as other cars, even other CUVs. The seats are hard, the plastics are hard, the ride is stiff-kneed. Not as bad as the Rogue but demonstrably worse overall than the CX-5.
The insane driving in my metro did NOT adhere to any demographic, skin color, bumper sticker or income level. I drove all year for my job... and damn, was it dangerous out there. Pure assholes from every walk of life and in every neighborhood. My dashcam tells some stories.
“Guy wants a new car for $30,000, he’s not gonna get Lexus-like NVH.”
My brother has this exact car and I hate to say it is not quiet.
Except there are big issues with NVH in this space. The Rogue and the Rav4 are tinny boxes. Honda says they made an effort... until you compare a CRV to something like a Lexus. When you spend 2 hours a day in a machine you place a higher premium on real NVH efforts (and active noise cancellation doesn’t fix everything)…
None of these are comfortable. They all have high NVH. You can’t find the truly comfortable cars that place a high priority on ride and NVH because those aren’t sexy features. Buick tried and few cared. The car mags don’t really spend a lot of time on ride and NVH.... but I do. I spend a LOT of time in my vehicle (20k…
thats the point tho
Nice perspective on witnessing death. It’s something you collect, not a hill you walk over. However, good luck with creating art out of vengeance. Digging two graves and all that.
NP. This is it. This is the endgame.
Hertz. They all have it. Lower frequencies do indeed travel farther. High frequencies can be blocked by a blanket. Low frequencies can only be stopped by mass.
yay, you win
They all sucked. I can’t wait till this whole franchise falls apart under its own weight.
