This isn’t a very “AV Club” headline. Let me have a go:

I hope there's no new equipment locked behind this, or is at least accessible somehow to single-player folks like myself.   Even if I have to invade and immediately hurl myself off the nearest cliff like with Varre's blood quests, that's fine.

maybe a tabard!

I’m still excited for this show but I kinda hated this trailer. I thought burying the game/series’ excellent soundtrack under the “slowed down 80's song” trope made the whole thing feel generic. The teaser trailer was a LOT better.

Reminds me more of Piranha 3D which also had a pretty good cast somehow (and was fun)

As a 3/8ths Italian-American, I am looking forward to Chris Pratt giving some proper representation on-screen. Contrary to long standing stereotypes, no: we don’ta all talka like a dis! I have never uttered “wahoo” in my life and I don’t know any other Italian-American who does. Good on him for not leaning into lazy

100% agreeing with you there. A full feature-length movie with Martinet’s voice as Mario would probably have me ready to punch some kids.

... and we don’t want that.

Seriously we need to stop this idea that Charles Martinet would be a good mario for 90 minutes. He does a fantastic job with the short quips and reaction lines but god if you hear him trying to do long form mario it is just grating and awful.

Giving off some serious J.P. vibes

My thoughts exactly.  If anything, for an actor of his acclaim, this is hitting bottom of the barrel when it comes to booking roles.

not to defend spacey but i wouldn’t exactly call this hollywood.

I paid $300 for my kid’s Switch a year ago, and $400 for my Deck in March. So 1.3x for the hardware. (Both devices got microSD cards, so that’s a wash.)

gotta be to avoid spoilers. That was my reasoning for having not mentioned anything to you.... also... what if someone reads this thread now? You didnt warn them!

“But it's Disney and 3D so..." *writer's head starts to smoke as it can't compute*

You’re probably shouldn’t click and comment then, cause you’re adding to the traffic that tells Kotaku “Yes, more Amouranth”.

That wasn’t CGI.

eh, I hate QT myself, he’s massively overrated and 90% of his movies suck imo, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. We both know criticizing the dominance of generic CGI corporate entertainment products masquerading as movies is not about “diversity”.

Those aren’t his two top picks. Those are just two movies he recently said he liked, in separate interviews, completely unrelated to this podcast. The author is trying to draw a connection here and doing a lot of editorial hypothesizing.

Those aren’t his two choices for great movies of this era. The author of this piece is taking unrelated pull-quotes from separate interviews and using those as a sort of “answer” to the statement he made in this podcast. A statement which, let’s be honest, is just kind of a flippant throway line at the top of the
