Yeah, I found it just as tedious as AC: Valhalla thanks to the shrines ALL being bloated to include three of the same puzzle in escalating difficulty, and basically none of the shrines giving anything of worth after you were about 1/2 through the game. I enjoyed it for a while and liked the look of it OK, but its thin

Funny, the Kotaku review says the opposite (the story is grimdark and not great, but the gameplay is fantastic and so good that they started a new game plus). Who knows what to believe?!

Many of them have already! I suspect he is, as usual for when I’ve heard people say “Millennial” the last several years, using it because he still thinks it means “20 year olds” even though that hasn’t been the case for a long time.

Seriously. I remember twitter posts just like this for Batman V Superman. Fast forward to the day it came out, and it was almost universally despised.

I don’t know that I ever heard him, I think I had Japanese voice acting on every time Ganondorf was around (that voice actor is good, too). I am talking about the 5 sages and Zelda. If he was good, he was the only good part of the US dub!

One thing I’m surprised wasn’t mentioned was the uniformly bad voice-acting from almost all parties in the English dub. The single thing that most improved my experience was setting this to the Japanese audio. I always switched back to English at the start to every temple just to see what every Sage sounded like in

I saw Smooth Talk for the first time a couple months ago, and was blown away. It’s seriously one of the scariest movies I’ve ever seen, almost entirely because of his performance. He’s really, really good in it.

Yeah, if I had a house that I could set up a projector in a light-controlled room I’d be all over that. But my Panasonic Plasma’s logic board just randomly blew out 5 years ago and already at that point 3D TVs were a thing of the past. Ah well. I have about 30 3D Blu-rays (most of them being vintage movies where you

Having just seen Robot Monster in 3D at a film fest, and having previously seen real 3D versions of House of Wax and Creature from the Black Lagoon, I think 3D can be a ton of fun and add a lot to the theatrical experience. I wish 3D TVs still existed, though. Disappointing that got phased out and now I have a bunch

Kotaku is completely unusable on mobile for me. In Chrome with no adblockers, it’s just a constant stream of amazingly intrusive garbage with videos autoplaying over half the screen and it usually slows down and crashes my phone or kills the battery in very short order. On safari with ad blockers, the comment section

Yeah, they’re terrible, especially in the really frenzied last gauntlets of the game. You have to literally chase them around to try and get their ability, and since they’re all melee characters, chasing after them also has to involve you weaving around between enemy swings, and frequently they get knocked down right

Another thing you can do is fuse eyeballs (regular keese eyeballs work fine) to your arrows. I tried that last night fighting the “King” variant and a Lynel bow and it was like 3 homing arrows every shot, and only sort of had to aim.

I don’t know what “the Nintendo wired controller” is, but the Gyro aiming works

That’s what I said, every gumball machine has a limited pool of 4-5 items, so if you’re only after one of them it’s possible to get the 3-4 you DON’T want. In my experience I usually get unlucky and get 3 of everything except the one I want, which I’ll get 1 of. :P

Put a spring on the ground in front of the boss and just keep using it to launch yourself up and then use the bow slow-time thing as you fall. You can aim incredibly slowly and still easily disable at least one head every jump.

You still take damage from the gleeok’s ice beam with the 3 piece bonus, but it’s like 1/2 a heart of damage and you can’t be frozen solid.

Yeah. Basically every enemy in the game other than low-level basic enemies 1-shots you when you have less than 10 hearts if you’re using the low-level armor. In contrast if you have a full set at +4 (20 armor a piece) most enemies just tickle you. Like, I get eaten by an obsidian frox and it does less than 1 heart of

Yeah, too bad they patched that out. My darn game auto-updated it when I restarted my system, even though I had internet off and auto-update off! I guess it forced it because my system had downloaded it before I knew not to install it.

They made it considerably worse cause now you have to use weapons for stuff you would have used bombs for in the previous game (ex breaking through cave walls, destroying mining nodes, fighting annoying enemies like wolves that died to one bomb and were easy to lure onto bombs). Not to mention the option to chip away

Anyone who is horrified by this needs to play this game for a while. It seems every time you go anywhere there’s a Korok lying there, saying “HELP I NEED TO GET TO MY FRIEND,” and if you talk to it you always find out the friend is about 1500 yards the opposite direction of where you were headed. It quickly becomes

I just saw them live in Atlanta last weekend on a festival (so they were limited to an hour) and they played this one. The crowd definitely was into it. Lots and lots of excited people crowing when he’d mention whatever game they liked (ex Fallout 4).
