I actually had that backwards, DS1 is the one where you can only roll 4 directions while locked on to enemies (this is a big problem on some fights with big enemies), DS2 tried to fix it and was mostly successful. My big issue with DS2's rolling was how you had to pause after you rolled before hitting attack or you’d

You remember correctly. DS2 definitely had some wildly popular longform videos about how it was “terrible” that got millions of hits and came out less than a year after the game. Game reviewers liked it, plenty of players liked it (it’s my favorite of the three, though I started with the SOTFS edition), but there’s

Man, I loved the first Horizon game, and I enjoyed my first week with HFW, but going back to it after Elden Ring is BRUTAL. I was just constantly getting frustrated by the endless dialogue and cutscenes, so I ended up mashing all the cutscene skip buttons as fast as possible cause everyone just keeps talking and

The main problem (which might be resolved by some kind of split adapter, I haven’t looked into it, I just used the adapter they gave me with the Iphone 8) is that you can’t output audio and charge the thing at the same time. Like, on my old car I always just had my phone plugged into the Aux with 3.5 and then had it

I think this is probably your memory filling in Avatar as looking better than it did. This looks quite a bit better. Avatar was spectacular in 2009, but as with most CGI-heavy movies, it looked a bit dated pretty quickly.

Completely agreed. I don’t actively dislike the rest or anything, but it’s pretty amazing how it just immediately gets taken down several notches as soon as the rest of the cast arrives and never recovers. Even if the Ted Raimi stuff is good.

I dunno if things are any worse now, this whole article just reminded me of when we saw the exact same level of twitter hype after the first preview screenings of Batman V Superman. It’s totally meaningless until critics are actually allowed to review the damn thing. And we’re all stupid for reading the article at all.

You have to be holding a buffable weapon to use it. Most “unique” weapons can’t be buffed. Unique = upgrades with somber smithing stones instead of regular smithing stones.

I feel like maybe someday they’ll nerf her to not heal if she hits a blocking character. It really doesn’t seem like it was a planned feature of the fight. I wonder if they just couldn’t figure out how to program her to heal in response to damage dealt vs “hit connected.” Then again, with how effective a fingerprint

I beat the crap out of her worse than I ever have with any other build the other day as a sorcerer. However, you need some faith (I had 60 int and 24 faith at the time, and had to wear the Renalla helm and the +5 int talisman to get to 68). Strat was:

Unfortunately it looks like they changed it after you posted this.

The virgin abductor is the only one that I’d describe like this guy described, where you basically go to a hell area and can’t get out till you’ve fought your way out. However I think the area it teleports you is balanced for the level you’d probably be at if you managed to even get to the abductor in Raya Lucaria.

I will admit freely that I’m not extremely experienced with Reddit, but the handful of subreddits I’ve seen about politics/news are very strict about “nothing can be posted on this site unless it’s a repost from some verified news source.” It does not generate content, it generates discussion about other sites’

Haha. Seriously. Twitter is absolute cancer and I really hope this kills it. It often feels like Twitter is THE single most responsible source for the decline of journalism. Seems like half of formerly “legit” news sources now spend inordinate amounts of time broadcasting a bunch of random dipshits’ twitter hottakes

She’s only bugged if you summon another player. I’ve beat her a couple times since 1.04 with no difference from the earlier kills with an ash summon.

Elden Ring is infinitely easier than Demon’s Souls if you run around doing a lot of exploration and mini-dungeons instead of beelining story bosses, and if you don’t impose limitations on yourself like “don’t use ash summons.” And with a couple exceptions, there are very few “repeat this frustrating section over and

There is exactly one in the entire game and you can easily run to a point of grace (and the exit right beyond it) without fighting a single enemy. It’s one of the chests in the dragon ruins right at the start of the game, it teleports you to a shed in the middle of the caelid dungeon with all the pests.

I tested her again this weekend, this time with a totally different build, and again was able to spam her down with one spell without having to dodge more than just the move she does at the phase transition (FTR, strat was “equip only Ranni’s Dark Moon and Ancient Death Rancor, summon mimic tear, do nothing at all

You mean it takes place before BL3 (where she was an annoying teenager instead of a whacked out kid)?

I think 95% of the people that even get to Malenia will have gravitated towards the weapons like Moonveil or Blasphemous Blade that are dropped in your lap and far easier to upgrade to max than the “regular” weapons in the game, and almost everyone will either have the Mimic Tear or Black Knife Tich since getting to
