Timothy Dalton going German at the end of The Rocketeer sounds like Craig Ferguson.

James Wan. Aquaman might be a total mess plot/characterwise, but it’s nothing if not cinematic. The dialogue scenes and action scenes actually look like part of the same movie and there’s kinetic energy to the way they’re filmed.

Part of the point of this article is that he’s the male equivalent to the usual love interest characters in male-led movies, who also often had no drive to do anything other than be with the hero. Yes, maybe they were “clingy,” but it was really normalized at the time and I don’t think people tended to lob that term

Do you have any examples where you think she’s a GOOD actor? I can’t recall off the top of my head where I’ve seen her extend herself - she’s fine in The Fifth Element, but I’m not at all convinced by her toughness in the two RE movies I’ve seen. But, almost EVERYTHING in those movies is bad.

Yeah, you’re right. Dragonchasers was the exact point at which I started taking the show seriously. I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into at first, with people jumping out of cars and tackling criminals to the sick tones of POD or Kid Rock or whatever.

The reveal of the titular “Family Meeting” is the only event in any movie or TV show I can ever remember causing my head to start pounding like I was getting faint. That was horrific, and completely without anything graphic or disgusting.

That’s interesting, I tell some people if the first episode puts them off to tough it out through the first season before dismissing it. The tone is so eye-rolling in the first several episodes with tons of Nu-Metal blaring and that kind of thing. It becomes a much more mature show after that.

Best show ending was The Shield IMO. The show’s not the greatest of all time, but it really followed through on its dedication to build every season out of the events of the previous with the stupid decisions from the early years spiraling further and further out of control. “Family Meeting” is one of the roughest

Seriously. Vanessa Lutz is one of the great cult movie characters of all time IMHO. And then she did Election shortly after! When she gets a part where she can unleash hell, she still does it better than just about anyone. Ex, Big Little Lies.

I even love her in Legally Blonde and subscribe to the theory outlined in a

Yeah, that’s a pretty good one. I watched The Last Winter recently, which treads a lot of the same ground but with a very different main character setup, and that one is even creepier. He really likes those Wendigos.

Alright, that all makes sense. Thanks for clarification! I was just curious about the reasoning.

Don’t forget Blacula!

I’m as against lootboxes as anyone, but how does boycotting them help the game’s developers? Your other suggestions all make sense to me.

-40 degrees F is the point where it’s the same as C.

I dunno. The first one had the benefit of that really cool skydiving trailer with the Ligeti that made it look like something scary and unique. This one looks more like a teal and orange cgi explosion-fest. I mean, it looks good to me, bring it on, I’ll watch anything with Godzilla, Mothra and Ghidorah in it, but I’m

The fact this much money is being tossed at yet another monsters team up vs King Ghidorah film makes me so happy. What is this, #6? Ghidrah, Monster Zero, Destroy All Monsters, Gigan (kinda), GMK...

I’d say the same thing about Williams. She hit her high point in seasons 2/3 with the Tywin scenes and then when she was paired with The Hound. I feel like she’s gotten worse every season, with the low point maybe being whatever she was doing in the first part of that scene with Hot Pie last season.

I laughed at that and now hate myself!

I thought it was superior on the show by virtue of not ending with that ridiculous “ten ravens attack Cat’s face while she laughs hysterically” thing.

I meant “CGI action scenes” and tried to clarify that in my second post, I think the directors are allowed to work on the stuff that actually happens on sets, it’s when stuff turns into all CGI models (ie, the climactic battle/train fight in Black Panther) that it turns into the soulless corporate mode. That elevator
