Thank you, Torch. May I have another?

So where are these at speed shots Andy was raving about?
I was just thinking that a good combination for an hour show (since they are already related) would be to have the Roadkill guys do silly challenges as they do, have the Motortrend guys review new cars and do head to heads and then have Randy Pobst do the track tests.
He didn't have a very good record in the WRC but he has dominated several American events (when he shows up) over the last 10 years.
OK, cool. I just wasn't sure what criteria they were using for that. Glad to see Ramana getting back into it.
In what way was this “the biggest American rally of the decade"?
The current BTCC cars are nowhere near production spec. Haven't been since the '80s. If you want the closest thing to professional production car racing we have today, look into the IMSA Continental Tire Sportscar Championship. They are racing at Lime Rock Park in CT this weekend and I for one will be there.
I might not. I hope not. Mine did though and that’s the only data point I really have. I got burned by not doing enough research before jumping into old BMW ownership. It was my own fault and I know that. I just don't want others to make the same mistake. It's not the same as owning a used Honda or Chevy...especially…
If you already have an 840 I can't imagine a 540 being any worse to live with other than the increased wear and tear of the extra miles being a daily driver will put on it. Same engine, right? I'm not sure of the suspension differences between the two but the suspension and recirculating ball steering will probably…
LOL. Yeah, I think the 540 is a really amazing car and if you have the time, money, skill and tools to bring one back to 100% and keep it there you will be very, very happy with it.
I voted nice price because I think the market bears it out but buyer beware, any $6,000 540i probably needs at least another $4,000 put into it to make it right and even if you can save money by doing everything yourself that's a lot of downtime if you plan on using it as a daily driver. I loved everything about my…
I can't help but think how much faster it could have been had the driver carried any actual momentum at all out of the Downhill and he also could have braked a hell of a lot later for Big Bend.
By not checking your mirrors and/or not giving point-bys to the theoretically "slower" cars that are all over your rear bumper.
Nobody is buying mid-size sedans anymore. Funny, because the gray Honda Accord Sport in the headline photo looks exactly like the one my parents bought...on Saturday. It's even a manual.
So does NASCAR when they race at a road course like Watkins Glen, Sonoma and countless others over the years.
The most maddening questions are always from non-car people.
Excellent article, Robb. The speed limits, the ban on record attempts, the politics...it all ties together quite nicely. And Taki Inoue is still a dick.
Agree to disagree. Either way they are all better than what came out of my friends camp stovetop percolator this weekend. Couldn't even sit down to drink it on account of everything being soaking-freaking-wet. A coffee run to Dunkin would have been wise if our brains were so soggy that we forgot about it.
I want to know what this thing could do at the now fully paved Pikes Peak.
But Watkins Glen has a Dunkin Donuts which has better coffee than Timmy Ho's and it's only 5 min from the main gate.
