I know he's gay but that doesn't mean the song can't be sung from the perspective of a straight guy. IMO the lyrics are pretty clearly about a girl. Or, I don't know, maybe I'm just putting myself in the narrator's position? Straight women sing songs written buy guys about girls all the time, doesn't make them gay.

Good. I'd be OK with ever harsher penalties. He should have to serve a driving ban of at least another 8 months after being released as well.

Yes!!! The Magnetic Fields (Stephin Merritt) are wonderful. One of my favorite songs is "Luckiest Guy on the Lower East Side" which seems particularly well suited to Jalopnik since it's about owning a old, beat up convertible in New York City because it's the only reason the girl he likes will spend any time at all

Of course it's hit collector status, or at least this particular one has. The 1986 and 1987 MR2s that I bought when I was in high school way back in 1995 were already junk at 8/9 years old due to careless precious owners. If I were in a position to bring an open ended checkbook to Barrett Jackson I would bid

What, no yellow Fiero?

And what the hell, here's a rally Boxster for you too.

Unfortunately the interior gives away that it's just a street car. Stock seats, no cage, etc.

My 1986 AW11 (1st gen. MR2, like the one RCR recently reviewed and loved) had much more of a tendency to trailing throttle oversteer than any 2nd gen SW20 MR2 I've ever driven...though that may have been due to the completely shot suspension bushings creating something of a dynamic rear toe situation.

It's got to be the Turbo Interceptor from The Wraith, hands down.

The original is a classic but I can't help but love Ben Folds Five's version just that little bit more.

Exactly. He may be the bass player but Gene is the face of KISS.

So many good choices. The Ford/Shelby-Ferrari wars. The rise and fall of Porsche almost buying VW and ended up being owned by VW. Alex Zanardi's life story. The Art of Racing in the Rain is supposed to be in the works with Patrick Dempsey. Staff Sgt. Liam Dwyer's story would be great....since it already seems too

I blame it on most other cars becoming bigger and bigger and uglier and uglier over the years.

The first thing that comes to mind are all of the gloriously liveried Jagermeister race cars of the '70s, '80s and '90s.

The brown diesel wagon.

Why no M8, mate?

There is no more appropriate car for a carpenter than a Morgan.

Ha, already following 8 of the 10. Not bad.

I know this won't be very popular, but it was an E30 M3. Maybe I would have enjoyed it more out on the open road (I only got to drive it on an auto-x course) but it felt very sloppy in the shifter, steering and suspension responses compared to my Integra. It wasn't even on the stock suspension. IIRC it had
