I really loved the part where Ru asked Alaska how she felt about Adore leaving and Alaska gave the standard "she's wasting this amazing opportunity" answer, and Ru was just like, "No, that's not how we're playing it this time. We're sympathetic to Adore's emotional distress, she can't help it." And then Alaska just

I love Itty Bitty Titty Committee, but the main love interest (Tara Subkoff, I think) is just awful.

Yeah, but the point is:

Did the herb scissors originally have a thyme pun that got copyedited out?

It grows back as a pixie cut in a few months. It'll take a while for it to grow back to its old length/the length most casting agents would want, and if she wasn't working during that period and her show flopped it would suck. Even established actors get concerned about making massive changes to their hair for roles,

It's not like they knew Stranger Things was going to be a hit, though. Sure, they might be careerist creeps who just want to get their daughter back on the gravy train as soon as possible, but if she really loves acting, it would probably be devastating for her to make a sacrifice like this, get no gains, and also

That fact isn't really very fun.

The fact that it gets all 80's softcore with the nipple-sucking makes it more horrifying than the kid's face turning into bugs.

He could also bang alarmingly young women, at least in Carpenter and Carpenter-adjacent films. I actually liked his relationship with Jamie Lee Curtis in The Fog, but jeez, was his Halloween III character a creep. She's like 19 and her father just died, you gross old alcoholic!

Sirens (the American version, at least) has a female asexual character named Voodoo.

Yeah, omitting the name of the banned comedian makes it way too easy to misread.

I fail to see how anything I said proves "BAM! Lady Ghostbusters!"

He didn't rape someone, he threw a fit when someone who raped and assaulted several women wasn't allowed to perform at a comedy theater and claimed that banning a rapist was "worse than rape." It's like one fit in a 10-year-long series of fits of attacking women for asking not to be sexually harassed.

I don't really see the situation as being that different than it is for women — once you get out of the character actor realm, looks and sex appeal are pretty important for men and women, and has been at least since the mid-1970s.

I don't think you can dismiss casting calls in the "reality of casting," though, since casting calls immediately limit the pool for consideration. Casting calls also tend to be based on decisions made by a) the screenwriter, how (usually) described the character in the script, b) the director, how (usually) he sees

Feminist: The Movie: The Game: The Novelization.

I left after one too many Dude Thinkpieces, like the letter from a dude to his imaginary daughter who was actually a real 14-year-old who'd had her sex tape distributed on the internet, and which was all about how her mom didn't raise her right or something. And of course Hugo Fucking Schwyzer.

I think it's supposed to be Feminist: A Movie.

The point Natureslayer was making is that the song doesn't actually say "she's gonna marry me," it just says "I'm gonna marry her." IMO "Can I have your daughter" is the worst offender in terms of sounding like "Please transfer ownership of these goods into my name," though.

I get wanting a happy medium, but "I'm gonna rape you, girl" seems like a really, really low bar.
