Politicians’ salaries should be tied to the overall health of the economy. If they make decisions that harm the economy, their salary goes down. If they make decisions that improve the economy, they make more. This goes for national, state, and local officials. Smarter people than me can figure out the finer details.

UPDATE: Just ran a quick errand near the Whole Foods, and see that the phones have been moved. Not to another tree at WF, but to a tree at a slowly dying strip shopping center nearby. The phones have moved less than 1/4 mile.
