I think that Marvel's willingness to off villains is a great thing. The worst comic trope of them all is the villains that keep coming back time and again.

That was the single biggest thing that turned Heroes into a dumpster fire, their unwillingness to kill Sylar. That is also the most annoying trope in comic books (and the reason I stopped reading them decades ago), the constant recycling of villains. Superman has been fighting Lex Luthor for 80 years… enough already!

That's two abortions this week on TV this week without judgement(Olivia on Scandal was the other). Good on you, modern TV!

I think her bra was so stuffed full of cutlets that every bit of breast tissue she has except for her nipples was pushed out the top of the bra, kind of like Julia Roberts in Erin Brockovich. She's in real life fairly flat-chested.

Wierdly enough, it seems like this was the week for the "check your privilege" rant on TV. On Grey's Anatomy this week, Dr. Pierce gave a very similar speech to Amelia Shephard.

Isn't David Lee Jewish also?

I guess this is horrible of me to say, but when I saw the album cover, I thought it was men in drag. Those are some lantern-jawed women.

I have to admit I've always had mixed feelings at best about the Snowdens and "Gabehcuod"s of the world. Whereas Chelsea Manning was a whistle-blower in the purest definition of the word (someone who stumbles on something and blows the whistle), these guys call themselves whistle-blowers, but they are actually

Ahhh, tis the beauty of the internet that I can't quite tell if you are complimenting me, or snidely insulting me, but thanks, I guess?

Well, I was being fair… I haven't seen much of late period Nicholson, so I can't judge.

We're cool…I understand what you are saying, sorry I can't help you with a new word. I just use language as it is. I thought you were being a pedant, but it's clear it means more to you than just a definitional fight, so I'm cool with that.

To expand just a little bit, I'm always surprised no one ever calls him out for repeatedly doing "The Nicholson Thing" which to me was just him doing McMurphy over and over and over. He is to crazy as John Wayne is to cowboys, just a huge fucking hambone.

The Shining is a huge piece of shit. Nicholson is unwatchable, unless you are into watching him doing a retread of McMurphy like he did in almost every film in the first half of his career. Chinatown is the only movie from that era where he doesn't make me want to take my shotgun to the screen. Add to that Shelly

I know the original meaning of "fridging", and I also know you can't fight linguistic evolution. The term has been used the way I used it (essentially, a character death that is only there to catalyze major life decisions/changes in another character) since at least 2004(death of Tara in BTVS). The modern usage of the

Yeah, I find that complaint weird and annoying because AOS is one of the most minority-driven shows on TV outside of Shondaland and shows like Black-ish or Fresh Off The Boat which are about being minorities. Then again, people tend to erase all the Asians associated with the show whenever they want to make a point

***Also, looking back, it is nice to see how strong of a female lead Anderson was in the early 90's.***

Bad News Bears is just a great movie, period, You could never make it now, more's the pity. Kevin Smith just did a commentary track on it recently that is well worth listening to. http://www.smodcast.com/epi…

I co-sign that idea! That was an underrated series, but it just got rolled over by the sheer quantity of stuff crapped out by the Stratemeyer Syndicate. https://en.wikipedia.org/wi…

She may not have been intended as a psychopath, but what they ended up with is one of the most vile characters in the history of TV. I can't think of a character that has ever annoyed me more in 40 years of TV watching. I just want her to die slowly and painfully, and I couldn't give a shit about her tragedy at this
