While they can speak to similar issues of representation, I’m not sure Azaria voicing Apu (and the question of whether voice actors need to match, loosely or precisely, the ethnicity or background of their characters) actually relates much to changing the backgrounds or traits of a live action character (you could be

She is great in it. And y’all need to stop worshipping review aggregators and watch more movies with mixed/bad reviews. There are still a shocking number of critics who hate anything bold or outside-the-box, and review scores often reflect that. Blonde is one of those movies that transcended the dichotomy of “good” or

The Razzies are completely worthless. All they do is shit all over originality and boldness and hate any film that takes risks or operates outside mainstream cinematic tropes. You know what else received multiple Razzie nominations? The fuckin’ Shining.

“A full adult” lmao, sure buddy

Are you telling me the movies people keep having tantrums over every time someone says “eh, not for me” are…for babies?

Birdman is better than any of the boring ass movies marvel has turned out. The reason so many great artists hate marvel movies is they are soulless CGI crap with baby brained stories. Disney does everything they can to remove originality, intelligence, and art from film with those movies. If marvel fans were smart

When someone is asked about their opinion on something, God forbid they express a distaste for it.

I like superhero movies, but I don’t like this superhero = western comparison. Among the westerns of not-today, you didn’t see almost all of them being done by two mega-corps, at least one of which has been hell-bent on gobbling up everything we see and farting it out as more branded content; is anything going on

Of course it’s ok to like or not like a thing. This person is just a puritanical weirdo who hasn’t even seen the thing they’re crusading against.

As someone who can’t stand torture porn but enjoys the Terrifier movies, I think you either haven’t watched the movies or are simply miscategorizing them.

“I don’t get the responses to this movie” says person who didn’t watch the movie.

Terrifier 2 was a vast improvement over the first film, which basically had no story or characters and was just pointless gore for 80 minutes. I appreciate the audacity of Leone swinging for the gory fences, but in part 2 he remembered that story and characters are just as important as impressive practical effects.

That’s fine; I enjoy it, you think its meh. Nothing wrong with that.

For anyone who is a wrestling fan, this mirrors the discussion about things like deathmatch wrestling. There seem to be a lot of folks who don’t like it, but therefore insist that it can’t be liked, which to me just seems silly.  I don’t like deathmatch wrestling, but others do.  I don’t really like torture porn type

Is there someone with a weapon to your back forcing you to go see Terrifier 2? Did you perhaps get lost on your way to the early-bird buffet at the casino? Do you need us to call someone for you?

“If something I don’t like is popular, it must mean I’m wrong about things I DO like! There is no other recourse than reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee”

Well bless your little heart!

You definitely come across like the insane moms that thought Silent Night Deadly Night was going to ruin Xmas forever

Clutch your pearls some more you puritanical fool

See also the works of Lucio Fulci in the 70s and 80s. There’s always been a lucrative niche for gross-out horror movies.
